REFUND AND CANCELLATION

Our refund policy: 7-day no-questions-asked refund from cohort start. Clear rules on cancellations, postponements, and how to request a refund.

We want you to be confident in joining DesignAI Academy. This policy explains exactly when and how you can get a refund — written in plain English, no fine-print games.

1. The 7-day refund window

You get a 7-day no-questions-asked refund starting from the cohort start date (June 8, 2026).

If, within those 7 days, you decide the cohort isn't right for you — for any reason — write to us at mukesh2015.iitg@gmail.com with the subject line "Refund Request". We'll process the refund within 7 to 10 business days.

The deadline to request a refund for Cohort 1 is end of day (11:59 PM IST) on June 14, 2026.

2. What counts as a refund request

To request a refund, send us:

  • Your full name (as registered)

  • Your registered email and phone number

  • Date of payment and the Razorpay transaction ID

  • One line about why you're leaving (optional, but it helps us improve)

You don't need to justify, explain, or convince us. Within the 7-day window, the refund is yours.

3. After Day 7 — no refunds

Once the 7-day window closes, we do not issue refunds. Reasons:

  • We've allocated the seat to you and turned away other applicants

  • The instructor's time, capstone planning, and Pro tier 1:1 slots are committed

  • Our cohort costs are largely fixed once the cohort starts

The only exceptions are listed in Sections 5, 6, and 7 below.

4. How refunds are processed
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method (UPI, card, net-banking, EMI)

  • Processing time: 7 to 10 business days from approval to your account

  • The refund amount is the base price you paid, including GST

  • Razorpay's payment gateway charge (~2%) is non-refundable in some cases — we'll absorb this for you within the 7-day window

  • For EMI payments: future instalments will be cancelled; instalments already paid will be refunded

If your refund hasn't arrived after 10 business days, write to mukesh2015.iitg@gmail.com with your transaction ID. Sometimes bank settlements are slow — we'll chase Razorpay on your behalf.

5. If we cancel or postpone the cohort

We commit to running Cohort 1 from June 8 to July 18, 2026. If, for any reason, we cancel the cohort entirely or postpone it by more than 14 days, you have the choice to:

  • Get a full refund (100% of what you paid, including GST and any payment gateway charges)

  • Roll over to the next cohort at no additional cost (and lock the price you paid)

We'll communicate any cancellation or postponement by email and WhatsApp at least 7 days in advance wherever possible.

6. Force majeure

If the cohort is disrupted by events beyond our reasonable control — natural disasters, pandemics, internet blackouts, government-mandated lockdowns, sustained Zoom or Razorpay outages — we will:

  • First, try to deliver missed sessions by alternative means (rescheduling, switching platforms, recording-only delivery)

  • If disruption exceeds 14 consecutive days, offer you a pro-rata refund for the missed portion of the cohort

  • If disruption exceeds 30 consecutive days, offer you a full refund or rollover

7. Removal from cohort for code-of-conduct violations

If we remove you from the cohort for a violation of our Code of Conduct (Section 5 of our Terms & Conditions) — harassment, plagiarism, content piracy, sharing of paid material outside the cohort, etc. — no refund will be issued. This is the one situation where we hold the line firmly.

8. Workshop cancellations
Our free workshops (May 16, May 23, May 30) are free. There's nothing to refund. If we cancel a workshop, we'll send the recording to all signups, and reschedule a live replacement where possible.
9. Cancelling before the cohort starts (before June 8)

If you've paid but want to cancel before the cohort starts, you have two options:

  • Full refund — write to mukesh2015.iitg@gmail.comany time before June 8, 2026, 11:59 PM IST. We'll refund 100% within 7-10 business days.

  • Roll over to Cohort 2 — keep the price you paid (we'll lock it), shift to the next cohort whenever it runs.

This pre-cohort cancellation right is in addition to your 7-day post-start window.

10. Transferring your seat

You can transfer your seat to another person before June 8, 2026 if:

  • The new student fits our admission criteria (junior designer, 0-3 years, etc.)

  • The new student passes our standard application review

  • Both you and the new student email mukesh2015.iitg@gmail.com to confirm the transfer

After the cohort starts, seats cannot be transferred.

11. Disputes and chargebacks

If you have a concern about a payment, please reach out to us first at mukesh2015.iitg@gmail.com before raising a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We'll resolve most issues within 48 hours.

Filing a chargeback without first contacting us, when a refund is owed under this policy, will result in:

  • Cancellation of your enrolment

  • Permanent ban from future cohorts

  • Possible legal action for the chargeback recovery fee

We've never had to enforce this — we want to resolve issues directly, fairly, and quickly.
